Logo Design Competition for Scottish Students
Students and school children across Scotland have been invited to take part in a logo design competition. The winning logo will be the official logo of the National Food and Drink Conference, due to take place in March next year at the Perth Concert Hall.
The winning student will receive a £300 cash prize and their winning log will be featured on printed shopping bags and a wide range of promotional materials including pamphlets, posters and flyers for the conference. Two runners up will each receive a cash prize of £100 each.
In a brief statement about the competition, Rural Affairs Secretary for Scotland Richard Lochhead said, “Through this competition, students nationwide will have the chance to showcase their creativity while helping us showcase our world-class larder.”
The competition is open to any school, college or university student in Scotland and closes on 10th February 2012. The lucky winner will be announced on the 24th February 2012.
The competition gives students in Scotland to showcase their creativity as well as offer a leap into a career in graphic design or other creative marketing career – an area that is increasingly difficult to break into for new entrants without a portfolio. It also gives children and students the opportunity to learn about the power of logo design in branding and marketing.
