Jute Bags

jute bags

Jute bags are starting to become a bag of the future just like the cotton bag. The just bag is a popular bag with the likes of farm shops and farmers markets because of their rustic look. The jute bag is not only used for shopping but is becoming a fashion accessory with children using them for school work students for college/uni course work and adults for everyday use.  Jute and cotton bags are going to be a bag you’re going to see more and more of due to the way we are changing our carbon footprint.

Jute is a natural material and is grown in Bengal India it is one of the cheapest natural fibres only second to cotton. Jute is also known as hessian and is popularly known as burlap in North America. Jute fibre is one of the strongest natural fibres and was often used to make rope before being exported to the UK to be manufactured into sacks and now carrier bags.

The jute we use is 100% natural is unbleached and un dyed. The same as with cotton there is no jute grown in the UK so we have the bags manufactured in India and imported by sea in containers of 100,000+ bags minimising the transportation and carbon footprint.  We screen print the bags by hand in the uk using water based inks again keeping the whole process as environmentally friendly as possible. These bags are ethically sourced and are manufactured in suitable working conditions.
