Polythene has long been seen as a material which could do untold damage to the environment, as plastic bags are always highly visible on landfill sites and throughout many different urban and rural environments due to their volume of use. Previous plastics used for printed poly bags could take 100’s of years to degrade, however the plastic used by The Printed Bag Shop for these bags is impregnated with an additive which speeds up the degrading process as soon as the plastic is exposed to UV light.

There are 4 different types of poly bags produced by The Printed bag shop:
- Punched handle: A common bag used by retailers, generally made from vari-gauge material meaning it is thicker around the handle than at the base so it can handle a large weight without risk of the handle snapping.
- Flexi Loop Handle: The looped handle added to the top allows the bag to be used to its full capacity.
- Duffle: The handles are made with polypropylene rope which allow this bag to be carried over the shoulder. Many schools and clubs use these printed poly bags as they are very popular with children for reuse.
- Vest: These are the cheapest bags on the market and are perfect for high-volume retailers with lightweight products. These can be produced in large quantities from virgin/biodegradable or recycled polythene.
