TREES FOR LIFE

At The Printed Bag Shop our aim is to make a difference to the world we live in today and by supplying environmentally friendly bags we believe we can help make the difference.

We have decided to support Trees for Life and for every order of custom printed paper bags we receive we have pledged to plant a tree in our grove. So as our business grows so will our grove.

For every tree we plant on behalf of our customers we will send them a certificate dedicated to them for them to display with pride.

Each tree we plant will help to rebuild the Caledonian forest which once covered over 1.5 million hectares of the Scottish Highlands and only 1% remains today

Trees for Life are the only organisation specifically dedicated to restoring the Caledonian Forest to a target area of 600 sq miles in the Scottish Highlands. We work in partnership with the Forestry Commission, RSPB and private landowners, and own and manage the 10,000 acre Dundreggan Estate.

In august 2008 Trees for Life announced its successful purchase of the 10,000 acre Dundreggan Estate in Glen Moriston in the Scottish Highlands – one of the largest areas of land in the UK bought for forest restoration.

The £1.65 million deal is the award-winning conservation charity’s most significant and important project to date, and follows more than two years of negotiations. The Dundreggan purchase will allow Trees for Life to plant 500,000 native trees and re-connect the Forest between Glen Moriston and Glen Affric.

With the purchase of Dundreggan in August 2008 Trees for Life now have the opportunity to carry out substantial restoration work including bringing wild boar to the estate.
