The Printed Bag Shop’s Story
The Printed Bag Shop began in 2007 after founder and director Craig Smith was left unemployed and struggling with debt. After showing entrepreneurial skills since childhood where he set up his own market stall, Craig decided to set up his own business to change his life. 10 years on, The Printed Bag Shop has gone from strength to strength and is currently heading towards £1 million in turnover.
The exponential growth and world class clients that The Printed Bag Shop currently supply have come with some challenges along the way. The 2011 recession had a huge impact on cashflow and relationships with suppliers, forcing the business to change its payment processes and adapt to survive the financial downturn. It has since seen a steady increase in revenue and profit, showing that there is potential for small businesses to develop even in the most difficult economic times.
Speaking about us recently celebrating our 10th anniversary in business, Craig Smith says that ‘I never expected The Printed Bag Shop to reach the levels of growth and success that it has – I only started it so I could pay my bills and put food on the table for my family.
“I couldn’t be prouder of how far the business has come. 10 years is a fantastic achievement; we have worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, including Adidas, Vivienne Westwood and Nickelodeon, have our own purpose-built offices in the North East and a great team helping us take the business to the next level.”
