‘RIDE LIFE. RIDE GIANT’
Founded in 1972 by King Liu, Giant Bicycles has been creating high-quality bikes at an affordable price and improving the cycling experience for many years. Hitting the market for the first time in the early 80s, Giant branded-bikes were first sold in Taiwan, followed by Europe, North America & various other nations.
Pioneering advancements in both aluminium and composite engineering, Giant introduced the first carbon fibre bike, the Cadex 980 C, and revolutionised high-performance road bikes with their Compact Road Design. 20 years later in 2007, founder King Liu lead a 15-day cycling tour of Taiwan to share the brand’s message about the healthy, environmentally friendly virtues of the new cycling lifestyle. King continued this mission in 2009, with a 1,668-kilometer ride from Beijing to Shanghai, and in 2010 with the five-day ‘Green World on Wheels’ tour of the Netherlands.
Over the last four decades, Giant has grown well beyond its manufacturing origins, and has fast become one of the world’s leading quality bicycles and gear brand to date.
An eco-friendly cycling brand
Among the brand’s many values, Giant prides itself on its commitment to helping protect the planet, reducing its impact and promoting cycling as a responsible activity. The print specification was: ‘printed on two sides, one colour split between five designs’, which included empowering quotes like ‘Your Big Friendly Giant’, ‘Riding on the Shoulders of Giant’, ‘From Tiny Acorns Grow Giants’ and ‘One Giant Leap for Mankind’. These phrases perfectly conveyed the brand’s journey, whilst the use of well-known phrases made for a clever, yet playful twist on the bicycle theme.
Giant’s colour scheme was consistent throughout the design of the bags, maintaining their trademark blue shade, staying in sync with their brand image.
